Q: How do I set up TrackMeGo for the first time?
A: Click here for step by step setup instructions. There is also a step by step video available on this page showing how to actvate and set up for the first time on Vista.
Q: I want to see if any of my vans are being used out of hours. How do I do this?
A: By sending a "trip on" command to each Tramigo unit, you will be alerted every time a journey starts and ends. These are all logged in the asset's history. Simply look in the history for any trips which occur out of hours, or at weekends. These are picked up by TrackMeGo the next time the software is run, so even if its not on overnight, any trips reports which do occur after hours will be available in TrackMeGo the next time it is run.
Q: I'm concerned about my child's safety on the school bus and at school. Can TrackMeGo help?
A: Sure! There are many ways TrackMeGo can help. It all starts with putting a T22 in their school bag...
Q: How can I tell where and when my driver is speeding?
A: Sort of simple, except this only works for one defined maximum speed limit. This is pre-defined on each T22 as 75 mph, but you can set any speed limit warning you like. For example, if your vehicles never leave the city limits, then you can set a speed limit of 40mph. If you know there are no 40mph zones in the city (such as Blackpool) then you can set it at 30mph
Send a "speed on" command, and you will be notified when a van's maximum speed, which exceeds this level, is reach. On receipt of this message TrackMeGo will automatically show the map display and identify the location where the asset reached its maximum speed.
Q: Which files do I need to backup?
A: Your database file is TMG.ICT. This contains all the data in your database. Your license file is either TrackMeGo_License.ini or TrackMeGoLight_License.ini depending on which version you have installed. You are advised to make regular backups of both these files. In the event that you have to reinstall TrackMeGo on the same PC, install as normal, and then copy these two files back into your program directory.
Q: TrackMeGo works fine when I'm logged in as Administrator, but under my user's normal account, it keeps giving errors. What's wrong?
A: That's windows file security. When the software was installed under the Administrator account, it set certain permissions on the program folder (usually c:\program files\trackmego ltd\trackmego). The user's account is quite simply not authorised to make the necessary changes to this folder's contents.
However, all is not lost! Simply ask your administrator to set the permissions on this folder to "Everyone - Full Control" and the problem should be solved!
Q: TrackMeGo isn't getting any messages back from my T22. What's wrong?
A: This could be a number of things.
1. Have you carried out the OWNER - INITIALISE routine? if not - please do that before continuing
2. Check your T22 to see if the GSM light is flashing. If so, this means it can't send the SMS. This could be no credit on a pre-pay SIM card, or no GSM signal. Also, it could be that the SIM has a PIN lock on it,
3. If your GSM device is set to the wrong Read from... setting, it will send but not receive any incoming messages. Try changing to the other setting if your device will support it. NOTE: Mobidata GPRS modem MUST be set to Read from SIM
4. Add your own mobile phone as an asset, and then use TrackMeGo to send it a message. If you receive it on your phone, reply, and see if it appears in the history box. If this works, the it looks like a setting on your T22 is not correct
Q: When I start the program, I get a message saying the com port doesn't exist, but it's not changed since I used TrackMeGo last time. What's happened?
A: On some Windows computers, the USB modem can get "lost" and Windows fails
to see the com port. Presently, the only way around this is to shut down
TrackMeGo, unplug the modem, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in and start
TrackMeGo again.
It may also be caused by your modem drivers. Check to see if you have the latest version.
Q: The map doesn't show. It starts with "Loading Map." then just shows a
blank screen.
What's wrong?
A: This could be one of a few things. Please try these and see if anything
help.
On the settings page, change your "Map Source". The map problems usually happen
when using Microsoft Live Maps (for some strange reason) so try changing it to
Google Maps. Make sure you click <Save>. Then, select a historical location for
an assets and click the "Map History" button and see if it loads. If so, it make
be a problem with your internet explorer cache. (See below)
If that doesn't work, it may be that Javascript is not enabled on your PC.
Please check your internet explorer settings for this.
If you still have a problem try the following. After the map window goes blank,
minimise TrackMeGo and open "My Computer". Navigate to the program directory
(usually c:\program files\trackmego ltd\trackmego) and look for a file called
MAP.HTML, or it may just be an icon called MAP with the internet explorer logo
on it. Once you've found it, double click on it and see if this shows you the plotted map point(s).
If this still doesn't work, you may need to clear the internet cache
(temporary internet files) history, and cookies. How you do this will differ,
depending on the version of internet explorer you are using. In Control Panel,
double click on Internet Options. In IE7, there is a delete button just above
centre, click it, then click <Delete all...>. Try TrackMeGo again.
If the map still doesn't show after trying all these, please email support.desk@trackmego.net
for further advice.
